Parents Guide

When you trust someone else to care for and teach your child, you want to be sure it's the right place. You want a safe, secure, and warm environment where your child will learn, develop and have fun even when you're not there.

Parents often wonder what questions to ask when they first visit our school. The reason for this is simple--all parents have to start new experiences when raising their first child. When it comes time to help your child begin his or her social and learning skills you want it to be in a place you can trust. You should be looking for a warm, secure and professional environment. We have included a listing of questions you should ask and observations you should make when you are ready to begin the selection process.

When selecting a childcare facility here are some suggested things to look for.

•Is the center licensed?
•What are their hours of operation?
•Are entrances secured with electronic key pads?
•Are there secure drop off/pick up procedures?
•Is the building safe, clean, and well maintained?
•Are you immediately made to feel welcome in the school?
•Was your tour informative?
•Did the director rush you through your tour or did they take time to answer all of your questions?
•Was the staff alert and involved with the children?
•Did the staff seem interested in the children; was there laughter, hugging, and eye-to-eye contact?
•Were the children involved in constructive activities?
•What types of curriculum options does the school provide?
•What forms of parent communications are provided?
•Is there an open-door policy where parents can visit at any time?
•Are meals provided? If so, is it included in your weekly tuition?
•What is the school’s discipline policy?
•What are the qualifications of the staff?
•Is an outdoor play area provided?
